The Puppies are here!

Birthday September 9th, 2023

In my 16 years of breeding poodles, I've never had a girl go past her due date...well Pearl wanted to be my first. We waited and waited as her due date of 9-8 came and went. But beginning at 9am of the next morning, she showed signs of labor. She wen through the whole day as the labor progressed and delivered her first puppy at

9:44pm and didn't stop until 3:43am the next morning. 
I stand by my claim that Pearl is one of the best poodles I've ever owned. She took to motherhood like a duck to water. She is so proud of here babies and loves them so much. 

​Since Pearl was named after our favorite Disney movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean' - Black Pearl, we thought it only fitting that her first litter would be themed the same way. With great pride, we introduce to you:

The Pirates Litter!

'Buccaneer'
Gender: Male
Coat Color: Apricot & White
Ribbon Color: Blue
Point Color: Liver

9-17-23: This little dude is growing great. His little white spot on his forehead is darling and at 1 week old Buc weighs 1lb 8oz!

9-9-23: The first puppy to be born at 9:44pm scared the daylights out of me! Pearl gave a good push, I could see the little guy begin to come through the birth canal and then get 
stuck right before his ears came through. Pearl pushed and pushed and even whined a little, I thought, "oh no, don't tell me a c-section right away?!?" Then one giant push and he came out screaming! No wonder this guy took so much effort, Buccaneer weighs 1 pound at birth!

​'Treasure'
Gender: Female
Coat Color: Apricot & White
Ribbon Color: Pink
Point Color: Liver

9-17-23: At 1 week old Treasure is still the spitting image of her daddy and weighs 1lb 3oz.

9-9-23: 9 minutes after the first puppy came this little girl. She looks like a female version of her daddy! Treasure weighed 14.5oz at birth. 


'Poppet'
Gender: Female
Coat Color: Black and  White
Ribbon Color: Purple
Point Color: Black

9-17-23: 1 week old and little Poppet is super pudgy and wrinkly and super cuddly! She is also showing a sprinkling of brown hairs in her coat! At 1 week old she weighs 1lb 4oz.
9-9-23: 16 minutes later, a second little girl was born. A black beauty with little white markings. Poppet weighs 13.5oz.

'Mr. Gibbs'
Gender: Male
Color: Apricot & White
Ribbon Color: Green
Point Color: Black

9-17-23: Mr. Gibbs is such a rich sandy apricot color, and his nose is turning so dark, he's going to be so handsome! At 1 week old he weighs 1lb 3oz. 

9-9-23: 38 minutes later a second little boy was born. Mr. Gibbs weighed 13.4 oz

​Commodore
Gender: Male
Color: Dark Apricot
Ribbon Color: Orange
Point Color: Black

9-17-23: Wow! Look at the awesome color on this cutie! Commodore is a SUPER dark apricot and at 1 week old weighs 1lb 3oz.

9-9-23: 33 minutes later, another boy. Commodore weighs 12.7oz and is a beautiful dark apricot. 

Captain Jack
Gender: Male
Color: Apricot & White
Ribbon Color: Black
Point Color: Liver

9-17-23: Captain Jack is turning out ot be a beautiful apricot color with adorable little white markings. At 1 week old he weighs 1lb 5oz.

9-9-23: 2 hours had gone by since Pearl delivered Commodore. I knew it was time to make her get up, go potty and shake things up inside. She did not want to leave her 
babies, but she reluctantly went potty and 5 minutes later, out popped Captain Jack! Weighing in at 12.6oz.

​'Matey'
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Ribbon Color: Red
Point Color: black

9-17-23 : This little dude is doing great, holding his own at the milk bar and growing fast! At 1 week old he weighs 1lb 2oz and has developed brown hairs through his coat and under his tail!

9-9-23: After the long wait for Captain Jack to be born, I decided to go use the restroom and get myself something to 
drink. It took me 11 minutes, how do I know that? Because when I went back to be with Peal at 1:35am there was another puppy laying there still in his sack. Pearl was too distracted with cleaning the other puppies she still hadn't tore it open yet. I hurried over and tore the sack off of his face but he was non-responsive. I panicked and wrapped him in a towel and rubbed him vigorously and then I heard him scream. Phew! This little guy is the runt of the litter and weighs 11oz. He is the perfect blend of mom and dads looks. Jet black like Pearl, with his dad's white markings. 

​'Booty'

Color: Brown & White
Ribbon Color: Yellow
Point Color: Black

9-23-17: Booty the Beauty! This little girl get prettier every day! She's full of wrinkles, a deep and rich brown which makes her tiny white toes pop! At 1 week old Booty weighs 1lb 9 oz and is officially the biggest puppy in the litter!

9-9-23: 45 minutes after Matey was born, I was given the shock of a lifetime. Pearl delivered another puppy that, at 
first glance, I thought was another black one. But as she tore the sack off I realized, this puppy is brown! Even though Pearls dad was brown, the odds of her delivering a brown puppy because of the combinations of Monty's color also, was very very slim. But here she is! Booty is a beautiful rich brown with white markings. She weighs 14 oz and I cannot wait to see what she looks like as she grows!

​'Rum'
Gender: Male
Color: Apricot & White
Ribbon Color: White
Point Color: Black

9-17-23: Rum is a perfect champagne shade of apricot with bold black points, sure to be a looker! At 1 week old Rum weighs 1lb 6oz.

9-9-23: Well, I thought we were done at puppy number 8 because that's as many I had seen on xray, but after she delivered Booty, I felt Pearls abdomen and sure enough, I 
felt another baby moving around. Finally, at 3:43am, Pearl delivered her last puppy, #9! Rum weighs 13.5oz.
